Industrial producer prices increase by 0.9 percent


Industrial producer prices were 0.9% higher on average in September 2024 than one year earlier. Domestic output prices lessened by 0.7%, while non-domestic output prices went up by 1.7%. Compared to the previous month, domestic output prices diminished by 0.2% and non-domestic output prices by 0.6%, so industrial producer prices as a whole were 0.4% lower.

In September 2024 compared to September 2023 domestic output prices lessened by 0.7% on average, within which those in manufacturing, a section representing a weight of 60.0%, were 0.4% and those in the energy industry (electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply), a section with a weight of 38.6%, 2.2% lower. Food industry output prices rose by 0.9%.

Prices in Hungary decreased by 2.3% in energy and intermediate producer branches together and were up by 4.0% in capital goods producer and by 1.9% in consumer goods producer branches out of the end-use groups of the producer branches of industry.

Industrial non-domestic output prices were 1.7% higher, within which the prices were up by 1.5% in manufacturing, representing a weight of 82.9%, and down by 1.2% in the energy industry, with a weight of 16.7%.

In January–September 2024 compared to January–September 2023:

Domestic output prices lessened by 2.9% and non-domestic output prices rose by 0.3%, so industrial producer prices as a whole were 0.8% lower.
