John Daly Must-Watch Video Smokes Tee Shot and Cigarette vs. Phil Mickelson

John Daly was the latest guest on the 2v2 video series hosted by 6-time major champion Phil Mickelson and golf influencer Grant Horvat. The series is posted on both Mickelson and Horvat’s YouTube channels and has produced two episodes so far.

As expected, John Daly did not abandon the signature style that has made him a fan favorite. The two-time major champion kicked off the filming process by arriving 30 minutes late to the first tee, after which he hit a 280-yard bomb without a warm-up swing and with a lit cigarette between his lips.

During the video, which was posted in two episodes, Daly performed some of the feats that have made him famous over the years, such as hitting a ball using a drink can as a tee, and making a putt with only his left hand because his right one was busy holding his drink.

The match ended after 15 holes with the Mickelson-Horvat team winning 4-up. The 58-year-old golf icon teamed up with his son, John Daly II, who plays college golf for the Arkansas Razorbacks, following in the footsteps of his father, who also attended the University of Arkansas.

John Daly is one of the most popular players in world golf, largely due to the excellent results he has achieved despite his unconventional way of conducting his sporting career. Daly is well known for smoking in the middle of tournaments and maintaining a diet of almost Diet Coke on the course.

But Daly is also known as one of the most gifted golfers of his generation. Despite not putting in as much work as most of his peers, he won five PGA Tour events, including two major championships. He also won 14 other tournaments on other circuits.

His most famous triumph, and the one that propelled him to professional golf stardom, was the 1991 PGA Championship. Daly entered the event as the ninth alternate, and without ever having won at the highest level, he ended up lifting the Wanamaker Trophy, beating Bruce Lietzke by three strokes.
