John Harbaugh Shares Concerning Ravens Injury News Before…

The Baltimore Ravens are set for a highly anticipated Week 4 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs this coming Sunday, hoping to bounce back from the disappointing “Monday Night Football” loss they suffered at the hands of the Detroit Lions in Week 3.

The Ravens opened up the regular season with a heartbreaking 41-40 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Orchard Park. The team bounced back in Week 2, responding with a dominant 41-17 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Unfortunately for Baltimore, star defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike suffered a neck injury sometime during that Week 2 win. The Ravens were unable to determine the specific moment the injury occurred, but Madubuike began experiencing symptoms after the game.

He was ruled out for Baltimore’s Week 3 loss to the Lions and hasn’t practiced since. On Wednesday, the 27-year-old Pro Bowler was officially ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.

In addition to sharing Madubuike’s Week 4 status, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh also expressed concern regarding his long-term injury status.

“I will say, I am concerned about it,” Harbaugh told reporters on Wednesday. “I’m not really in position to comment on it right now. I haven’t been given the OK to comment on it at this point. He’s not going to play this week. I can tell you that. We’re going to have to see going forward when they know what they need to know.”

Madubuike experienced a breakout year with the Ravens in 2023, leading the team with 13 sacks. He signed a four-year, $98 million contract extension with Baltimore before the 2024 season.

“It’s big. Obviously, he’s a guy that we need and is dominant and stuff like that,” outside linebacker Odafe Oweh said of Madubuike’s injury absence. “I feel bad, but it’s the next-man-up mentality and we’ll be ready.”

The Ravens will kickoff against the Chiefs at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday.
