Jon Gosselin is still hopeful that the relationship between his children can be fixed.

In a recent interview with Us Weekly, which was published on Wednesday, October 16, Jon, 47, said that his son, Collin, 20, has been actively working to mend things with his siblings, saying, “He’s offered the olive branch, so hopefully the olive branch will be returned,” adding, “It’s a two-way street.”

The former TV personality admitted that he hopes his own relationship with his children improves, telling the outlet, “Every time I’m in New York or whatever, I reach out and try to get some stimulation from my twins or whatever. Maybe one day it’ll just happen, but we’ll see. We talk about it a lot. Holidays are coming, and maybe that’ll happen.”

The family update comes after Collin confirmed that he had not communicated with his siblings in over a decade. He revealed in an episode of Dark Side of the 2000s in 2023 that, “I think my mom kind of drove a social barrier between us.” Later in the episode, the young adult goes on to accuse his mother of abuse for sending him to a mental institution at age 12.

Collin wrote to his father while institutionalized in 2018 asking for his help to get out, prompting Jon to seek full custody, which eventually led to a fracture in the family.

“They don’t talk to Collin,” his sister Hannah Gosselin said in the episode. “They decided to not have a relationship with him.

Out of their eight children, only Collin and Hannah, 24, chose to live with Jon after his very public divorce from ex-wife Kate in 2009. Four of the sextuplets, Aaden, Leah, Joel, Alexis, 20, along with twins Mady and Cara, 24, all chose to live with their mom.
