Over the last three years, it has been easy to forget that Justin Thomas is on track to potentially be an all-time great in the game of golf.

That’s certainly not bad company to be in. Although it seems like Thomas has been in poor form, and he was throughout 2023 and much of 2024, he is still one of the most accomplished players in the modern game.
This win will be a huge confidence boost for Thomas heading into the second major of the season at a place where he has plenty of fond memories. Quail Hollow Club was the host to the PGA Championship back in 2017, when Thomas won his first major championship.
Just a few weeks after this win in Hilton Head, Thomas will head back to Charlotte to try to win a third Wanamaker Trophy.
He had been scratching the surface all season long — including runner-up finishes at The American Express and the Valspar Championship — but maybe this is the victory that Thomas needed to open the floodgates into another great season at the majors.
