Key Dallas Cowboys Duo Among Top Training Camp Standouts
🎙️ Voice is AI-generated. Inconsistencies may occur.
While the ongoing Micah Parsons saga has been the major talking point, there are plenty of other storylines to watch coming out of Dallas Cowboys camp. As they prepare to bounce back from a lackluster showing in 2024, two key players appear ready to lead the charge.
After losing Dak Prescott to a season-ending injury, the Cowboys’ offense took a major blow. Along with him getting back to 100% physically, the front office put him in a position to have a major bounce-back campaign.
Among Dallas’ biggest swings in the offseason was trading for wide receiver George Pickens. Alongside CeeDee Lamb, they have the potential to be one of the NFL‘s top duos in 2025. Based on recent developments, the pair of wideouts are already laying the groundwork to have a successful first season together.

CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens among top training camp standouts for the Cowboys
With a handful of practices under their belt now, insider Jon Machota broke down some of the Cowboys’ best performers in camp thus far. Lamb was one of the first players mentioned as he looks to remain among the most elite talents at his position.
“Well, he’s actually looked great. Lamb has basically caught everything thrown his way, performing like someone who would be just fine starting the season tomorrow,” Machota wrote. “There is no need to see Lamb in the preseason. He’ll get valuable work in Tuesday’s practice with the Los Angeles Rams. Missing the four weeks of camp in California last year contributed to Lamb getting off to a slower start last season. Don’t expect the same this year. Dallas’ WR1 is preparing to have the best season of his career.”
Pickens also earned a mention on the list after settling in nicely with his new team.
“It took the former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver a few practices to click with quarterback Dak Prescott, but he’s there now,” Machota continued. “Last Thursday was the practice that put things over the top as Prescott connected with Pickens for three touchdowns. The Lamb and Pickens duo is looking as good as the Cowboys could’ve hoped for when they made the trade in May.”

If the Cowboys are going to be a threat in the NFC, they’ll need their new receiver to hit the ground running from day one. Luckily for them, Lamb and Pickens already seem to be firing on all cylinders.
