Latest Update On WWE Star Omos Spells Bad News
The towering 7’3″ WWE Superstar Omos remains off WWE television, and it doesn’t look like that will be changing anytime soon. His last appearance was in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the April 5, 2024, edition of SmackDown. Despite this lengthy absence, reports indicate that Omos is not sidelined due to injury and is prepared to return to in-ring action.
Adding a unique chapter to his 2025, Omos had a notable stint with Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan, where he achieved championship success, holding the GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. However, he relinquished this title, a move reportedly made to facilitate his anticipated comeback to WWE. This return, as of mid-April 2025, has yet to materialize on WWE programming.
Throughout his WWE career, Omos’s immense stature has often positioned him as a “special attraction,” highlighted by his Raw Tag Team Championship reign with AJ Styles, culminating at WrestleMania 37, and a period under the management of MVP. Notably, under Vince McMahon’s previous leadership, Omos was a more regular fixture on television, often paired with MVP as his mouthpiece.
According to Fightful Select, inquiries regarding Omos’s current status revealed that he is healthy and “ready to work and perform.” However, the report also indicated that Omos’s name has not been part of recent creative discussions within WWE, suggesting no immediate plans for his integration into ongoing storylines.

Interestingly, WWE sources cited by Fightful noted that Omos had made a positive impression on officials during his time in NOAH, particularly highlighting his work ethic and willingness to compete in Japan. This sentiment was echoed by a NOAH contact, who stated that Omos left a favorable impression and that the Japanese promotion would be open to his return in the future.

Adding further context to Omos’s potential in WWE, The Undertaker shared his perspective on the Six Feet Under podcast. Regarding a potential WWE return for Omos, The Undertaker expressed hope, stating, “I hope so. He deserves it. He’s such a good guy, and you like to see people like that succeed… I forget.
Like, I’m a big dude, and I know there are people that are bigger than I am. But until you see — like, I see a picture. And I’m pretty heavy right now, I’m over 300 pounds. And I look like a child. I look like a child standing next to him.”
