Man’s Next-Level Goals Planning for 2025 Leaves Internet Speechless
As New Year’s resolutions get rolling, one couple is ensuring they don’t get lost in the bustle of daily life.
On December 29, Addison Marriott posted a video on TikTok showing the lengths she and her husband, Kade, went to while solidifying their 2025 plans—including reserving a private room at a public library.
The video has since gone viral, receiving 1.3 million likes. The couple spoke with Newsweek about why setting intentions was important to them and how the library whiteboard helped them map out their goals.
“Yes but does your husband reserve a room at the public library to have a formal 2025 planning session,” text overlaid on the video said. Marriott added in the caption, “A man’s version of a vision board night.”
The couple lives in Los Angeles, and Marriott told Newsweek that the idea for the library rental was a step up from planning sessions they’d already been having.
“Kade and I are both visual people and love to plan—we’re both the oldest children in our families—so this strategy worked well for us,” she said. “We’ve never done it this formally before. Typically, we have what we call ‘family council’ on the first of every month, where we review the previous month and plan ahead. But for 2025, we wanted to scale it up a notch and look at the entire year. We’ve got big things coming up, so we knew we’d need a big whiteboard.”
A Systems Approach to Success
The planning session was highly structured, the couple said. They began by setting individual goals in categories such as social, intellectual, physical and spiritual. Each worked independently before sharing their goals and offering feedback to the other. Once their personal goals were aligned, they turned their attention to shared aspirations.
“We set goals for things like finances and bucket list items,” Marriott said. “We have a goal to buy a house in 2025, so we discussed how much we want to save monthly for a down payment, retirement funds and travel. It was all about setting ourselves up for success.”
Her husband’s meticulous approach didn’t come as a surprise to Marriott, who described him as incredibly organized and forward-thinking.
“Ever since I met him, Kade has been very organized and very determined,” she said. “He is so hardworking and is always looking toward the future and how we can set ourselves up now to be successful later. He and I are similar in that way.”
“We treat each other as equals in our marriage and both want to be involved in all the planning, finances, brainstorm sessions, date night ideas, you name it,” Marriott continued.

In the video’s comments section, viewers expressed their admiration for the couple’s formal approach.
“A guy is organized, plans ahead and uses his local library? He’s a keeper, may this love find me,” one user wrote.
“Every oldest daughter running to the comments,” another added. “This is what we want in a marriage.”
Marriott said of the video’s success: “We’re so grateful for the traction the video got on social media. But in reality, this isn’t anything new! It’s simple goal setting—just doing it together as a couple, united as one.”
After their library session, the pair said they felt more united and motivated than ever.
“Honestly, we came out of the planning session feeling ready to conquer the world,” Marriott said. “It was so beneficial to align on everything and be on the same page—communication is key! We felt like we grew even closer together and felt super excited and grateful for all that we have coming up. We feel we set ourselves up for success in 2025.”
