Massive NBA Trade Proposal: Magic Land $29M Star to Bolster Playoff Chances
The Orlando Magic have been hit hard by the injury bug this season yet it hasn’t hurt their chances in the Eastern Conference. Despite losing multiple crucial players for extended periods, Orlando has found a way to survive.

In a new trade scenario, the Magic land a star wing and center to help bolster their rotation for the postseason. The deal would be between Orlando and the Portland Trail Blazers.
Here is what the deal could look like:
Magic receive: Jerami Grant and Robert Williams III
Trail Blazers receive: Jalen Suggs, Jonathan Issac, and a 2025 first-round draft pick
The team currently sits toward the top of the East standings but it remains to be seen how long they can hold on. Orlando has shown great poise and fight but over a long season, that tends to wear out quickly.
The Magic entered this season looking to heavily improve on their postseason appearance from a year ago. Orlando took the Cleveland Cavaliers to the brink in the first round of the playoffs and is now looking for even more success.
Orlando added in two-way wing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope over the offseason, signaling a desire to win. But with all these injuries, something else may need to be done to help their chances come playoff time.
The Trail Blazers have been looking to trade Grant for some time now but have yet to find any suitors. This is due to his large contract but the Magic have the ability to take on his deal.
Grant would give this team another strong scoring option for the playoffs. His defensive abilities are also a strength and he could help the team navigate through the injuries that they have seen.
Putting Grant back on a competitive team could be good for him and Orlando may get the best out of him. Additionally, if the pairing doesn’t work out, Orlando could always trade him down the line since he still has a few years left on his deal.
Getting Grant to pair with Paolo Banchero, Caldwell-Pope, Wendell Carter Jr., and Cole Anthony would give Orlando one of the best defensive teams in the NBA. Plus, adding in Williams III off the bench could make a huge difference in the East playoffs.
His energy and rebounding could give this team even more firepower. This could be a potentially season-saving move for the Magic.
