Ministry and MKIK cooperation aims to make economy more knowledge-rich
The cooperation between the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK) and the Culture and Innovation Ministry aims to make the economy more knowledge-rich.
Balázs Hankó, Minister of Culture and Innovation, said the cooperation between the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK) and the Culture and Innovation Ministry aims to make the economy more knowledge-rich.
Speaking ahead of a meeting of the Business Innovation Council on Monday, Minister Hankó noted that higher, vocational and continuing education, along with R+D+I, had been renewed in recent years with the goal of making the Hungarian economy more competitive. Now universities work together with local economic players, he added.
He said vocational education had been fine-tuned to the needs of the economy and the labor market thanks to cooperation with the MKIK.
Elek Nagy, who heads MKIK, said a knowledge-based chamber would help businesses advance to a technology-intensive phase, boosting their competitiveness. He added that the chamber would survey businesses to determine how vocational and continuing education could be improved and innovation strengthened.
