A mom-to-be has left the internet in hysterics after learning that her baby bears a striking resemblance to a certain family member (and it’s not his parents).
Like many expectant mothers, Inês, 26, was so excited for her ultrasound scan as it gave her the opportunity to finally see her baby. The scan took place on October 9, and Inês was delighted, telling Newsweek that her son “looked lovely, if a bit alien-esque.”
Indeed, it wasn’t until her friend looked at the ultrasound pictures and pointed out the uncanny family resemblance. Although, it’s not to his parents or even his grandparents, but rather, to his canine brother, Goulash.
“My best friend came with my husband and I to the ultrasound and she was the first one to say the baby looks like Goulash,” Inês said. “From then on, we couldn’t unsee it. Upon sending it to my parents via text, my father instantly said the baby looks just like Goulash too. Needless to say, it was impossible to unsee after that.”
Inês, from Lisbon, Portugal, rescued Goulash when he was just 7 months old, and she believes he’s going to make a wonderful big brother. He’s incredibly gentle and patient and is always careful around children.
“He’s the gentlest dog in the world; all he wants is to sleep and cuddle. I have no doubt he’ll be amazing,” Inês continued.
After seeing the hilarious similarities between the ultrasound and her rescue pup, Inês couldn’t resist sharing the pictures on social media. She shared a post on TikTok (@inesverse) joking about what she hoped her ultrasound would be like, only to learn that her son “looks remarkably like [the] dog.”
Internet users can’t cope with the comparison, and the clip has gone viral with over 1.8 million views and more than 380,800 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.
Inês has been blown away by the online response to her ultrasound, as she told Newsweek that many of the reactions have been utterly hysterical. The baby’s resemblance to Goulash has become a running joke among her family and now, it appears, across the internet too.
“It’s become sort of a running gag that the baby looks just like his big brother. When I posted it to TikTok, I had no expectation that it’d blow up. I find it quite delightful that such a silly thing can give so many people a laugh,” she continued.
Plenty of TikTok users have taken to the comments to share their reactions, leading to more than 650 comments on the viral post so far.

Another person joked: “There’s no denying those siblings. It’s uncanny.”
