NASCAR Hall Of Famer Splurges $3.7 Million On First 2025 Corvette ZR1
NASCAR Hall of Famer Rick Hendrick has recently purchased the first 2025 Corvette ZR1 for an impressive $3.7 million.
This latest addition to his vast collection was procured at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction. As with many of his previous automotive purchases, the proceeds benefitted charity, this time going to the American Red Cross.
Rick Hendrick is a name that resonates with NASCAR fans and those in the car collecting community. Since founding Hendrick Motorsports in 1984, he has impressed in the world of NASCAR with his team’s outstanding performances.
With 312 Cup Series race wins and 14 Cup Series owners and driver’s championships, Hendrick’s influence extends well beyond the racetrack.

His success isn’t limited to NASCAR either with his ownership of the Hendrick Automotive Group, a multi-billion dollar enterprise. This extensive organization was once even showcased in the 1990 movie “Days of Thunder.”

The 2025 Corvette ZR1 features a twin-turbo 5.5-liter LT7 V8 engine producing 1,064 horsepower and a top speed of 233 mph. Capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds, this model boasts a base price of $174,995. It comes with a carbon aero package which can generate 1200 lbs of downforce, further elevating its performance.

Rick’s love for Corvettes is well-established. He previously commented when he was inducted into the Corvette Hall Of Fame in 2015:
“My love for Corvettes goes back to when I was a teenager, and it was the love for the car that got me into racing and the automobile business.
“To be honored at a place where so many of the Corvette greats are honored — it’s just humbling. I never dreamed that I’d be recognized in such a way.”
His extensive car collection speaks volumes of his passion, housing over 220 vehicles, including about 122 rare Chevrolet Corvettes.
His collection also features exquisite models like the Ferrari F40 and McLaren Senna. It all started with a humble 1931 Chevrolet he bought at thirteen for $250, marking the beginnings of what would eventually become a celebrated personal collection.

This comes after Hendrick Motorsports announced a huge new partnership for the 2025 NASCAR season with Prime Video. Speaking about the sponsorship, Hendrick explained, as previously reported by Newsweek Sports:

“They’ve committed to our sport in a big way and are taking an innovative approach to delivering world-class broadcasts and content to our fans. Hendrick Motorsports is ready to support their efforts, and we look forward to building something special together over the next three years.”
