NASCAR Insider Teases Insane International Expansion Into New Country
According to Sports Business Journal reporter Adam Stern, NASCAR is considering moving the Clash to Brazil in the future.
NASCAR hosted the 2025 Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium last weekend, with Chase Elliott claiming victory on the compact 0.25-mile track for Hendrick Motorsports.

The event was deemed a huge success, drawing attention for its exciting racing on a short track. Now, there are reports suggesting that NASCAR is looking at Brazil as a potential location for the 2026 Clash, marking another step in its efforts to expand globally.
NASCAR’s presence in Brazil is not entirely new. The NASCAR Brasil Series, originally started as the “Sprint Race” in 2011, became an official affiliate in 2023.

NASCAR recently took a significant step by opening the Circuito dos Cristais, a ¾-mile oval in Curvelo, Minas Gerais. This track debuted in November 2024, hosting the season finale for the NASCAR Brasil Series.
Having its own purpose-built oval circuit in Brazil sets a solid foundation for further expansions such as possibly moving events like the Clash there in the future.

One of the primary challenges that NASCAR must address for events like the Clash to move overseas is logistical. Relocating involves substantial investments in infrastructure, travel arrangements, and establishing robust local partnerships.
These elements must be carefully managed to ensure that the move is both successful and financially viable. While NASCAR does have a history of international racing, its most prominent past event was in Japan in 1998. However, regional series such as NASCAR México Series have demonstrated the potential success of localized international races.
