NBA Betting Picks: 3 Best Prop Bets for Saturday, March 1

Today’s NBA slate features just six games, but there are plenty of opportunities for player prop bets, from Cade Cunningham in Detroit, where the Pistons host Brooklyn, to Stephen Curry in Philadelphia.

Curry, of course, is coming off a historic performance in Golden State’s 121-115 win over the Magic on Thursday night. With 56 points on 12-of-19 shooting from 3-point land, Curry came up one triple short of his career high, and he now has an NBA-record 26 career games with at least 10 made three-pointers.

Another player to watch tonight is Wizards forward Bilal Coulibaly. With Jordan Poole out of the lineup and Washington enjoying a favorable matchup against the struggling Hornets, Coulibaly should get plenty of opportunities this evening.

Cunningham 10+ Assists (+115 at bet365)

Nets vs. Pistons, 7 p.m. (all times Eastern)

Let’s start with an admittedly obvious — but nevertheless tempting — play in Detroit, where the Pistons have been one of the biggest surprises in the league. Cade Cunningham and Co. are coming off a 134-119 home loss to the Nuggets last night, snapping an eight-game winning streak.

Cunningham missed one game of the winning streak, but in 11 games in February, he reached at least 10 assists six times, and he has a favorable matchup tonight against the 21-38 Nets.

The Pistons should put up plenty of points in this game after lighting up the scoreboard throughout February, and that will mean plenty of assist opportunities for Cunningham, who is averaging 9.5 assists this year and has racked up 26 double-doubles in 54 starts.

The price here is also notable, as Cunningham is listed at as short as -106 to get to 10 assists at other sportsbooks.

Steph Curry 5+ Made Threes (-120 at FanDuel)

Warriors vs. 76ers, 8:30 p.m. — TV: ABC

Once again, we’re not exactly thinking outside the box, but Curry is hard to resist after his explosion against the Magic on Thursday.

That’s especially true because of how favorable this matchup is given the current state of the 76ers.

With Joel Embiid having officially been shut down for the rest of the season, a lifeless showing from Philly tonight feels like a distinct possibility. The Sixers have lost nine in a row, and the Warriors look like a contender with Jimmy Butler in the mix.

Golden State has won seven of its last eight games, and Curry coming off the performance he just delivered makes him an intriguing threat to knock down at least five triples for the 20th time this season. We’re not getting a great price on Steph here, but we still feel good about him staying hot, especially against an opponent that might not put up much resistance.

Bilal Coulibaly 15+ points (-113 at FanDuel)

Wizards vs. Hornets, 6 p.m.

Our final play of the night is banking on second-year Wizards forward Bilal Coulibaly to take advantage of an increase in touches with Jordan Poole sidelined.

We love Coulibaly’s chances of having a big night even more because the Wizards will be without not only Poole, but also Malcolm Brogdon, and keep in mind that Kyle Kuzma — the team’s second-highest-usage player — was traded to Milwaukee back in early February.

Coulibaly has scored at least 16 points in four of nine games since the Kuzma trade, including 20- and 16-point outings in Washington’s last two games.

Throw in the matchup against the Hornets, who are offering little resistance, regardless of the opponent, right now, and Coulibaly should get to 15 points with ease.

In fact, we’d recommend laddering his points prop up to 20+ as a low-risk, high-reward way to capitalize on a player who appears poised for one of the biggest workloads of his career.

Coulibaly’s season high in field goal attempts is 20, which he reached twice, and he scored 19 and 17 points in those games. Don’t be surprised if he gets that many looks tonight and gets to 20 points for the 10th time this season, which would result in a payout of 3-to-1 at DraftKings.
