New Budapest neighbourhood planned – The Budapest Times
A major construction project is planned in the south of Budapest. This was announced by Peter’s Consulting Kft.
The 16-hectare area at the ‘Southern City Gate’ is bordered by the overpass over Gyáli út, Ecseri út, the Üllői út railway line and the M5 motorway slip road. The international airport ‘Ferenc Liszt’ is only 12 km away.
Plans include a university campus, residential and office buildings and an internationally renowned event venue. The project is an organic part of the company’s strategy. The aim is to breathe new life and functionality into the busy streets leading into the centre. The company also has its sights set on renewing Budapest’s housing stock. ‘We expect the demand for new flats to explode from next year, mainly thanks to the government measures announced in recent weeks, such as housing loans at very low interest rates or the use of savings from voluntary pension funds for housing purposes,’ explained company owner Péter Zentai.
