NFL Punishes Browns WR Jerry Jeudy for Obscene Gesture vs Ravens
It’s no secret that the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns don’t like each other.
The two teams are bitter AFC North rivals, but unfortunately for the Browns, it’s been a one-sided rivalry since they started playing one another back in 1999.
The Ravens have won seven of their last 11 meetings, and they own a 38-15 series advantage, and to make matters worse, the Browns entered Baltimore last week as 11.5-point underdog for their Week 2 matchup.
That disrespect from the oddsmakers likely didn’t sit right with Browns star receiver Jerry Jeudy, which presumably prompted some offensive behavior from the 26-year-old wideout to the Ravens fans at M&T Bank Stadium who greeted him with a chorus of boos last Sunday.

“Talk about the birds? #Browns receiver Jerry Jeudy just pulled off a double move before the game, giving the #Ravens double middle fingers in pre-game intros,” Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot wrote on X. “Pretty sure that’s for their 30-year celebration of the #Browns moving here. He got boo’ed.”
Jeudy’s gesture didn’t go over well with the Ravens fans on the receiving end of it, and it also didn’t sit right with the NFL league office either, resulting in a hefty fine for the Browns star, according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.

“Per a league source, the NFL has fined Jeudy $14,491 for the gesture to the crowd,” Florio wrote. “The fine wasn’t included in the league’s weekly release for in-game fines, because it didn’t happen during the game.”
Jeudy’s fine was one of seven handed out by the NFL on Saturday.
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was fined $14,491 for unsportsmanlike conduct/obscene gesture, while Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley $46,371 for unnecessary roughness/illegal use of a helmet.
Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb was fined $26,084 for unsportsmanlike conduct/violent gesture and taunting, and teammate George Pickens was fined $28,982 for unsportsmanlike conduct/violent gesture and removing his helmet before leaving the field.
New York Giants offensive lineman James Hudson was also fined $12,172 for unnecessary roughness.
