Owner Moves Out, Sparks ‘Utter Confusion’ As Dogs Don’t Know Where To Sit

After only living in one apartment while their parents were in college, two dogs stopped and stared in confusion about what was happening to their home.

Spencer and Madison Fear welcomed home their golden retriever and Bernese mountain dog during their senior year of college. The dogs only knew this apartment. It was home. But during the last week before graduation, the couple started packing up.

“They could tell something was up,” Spencer told Newsweek. “They were just confused.”

He said their parents came to pick up their furniture and the couple was left with an air mattress and two folding chairs for their last few days. Their two dogs took over the folding chairs sporting very concerned looks in an April 29 TikTok video posted by @copperandchevy. Everything they’d grown up with was now gone. Where were they supposed to sit now?

The caption reads: “Utter confusion for Copper and Chevy.”

Taking over the two folding chairs, the dogs looked at the owners in disbelief that the comfy couches were gone. The golden retriever’s side eye made sure to drive home the message that they were only given options to rest in the chairs or on the hardwood floor.

Little did they know a big yard and additional indoor space would be waiting for them in their new home.

The move to the new space took about three hours, which Spencer believes was more interesting than the clip of their dogs on the chairs.

All the leftover items from the apartment were stuffed into his wife’s Honda Civic. Then they piled in with the two dogs. He said the golden retriever had maybe half a seat in the back and the 8-month-old Bernese mountain dog sat on his wife’s lap the entire trip.

They had made trips to the new house a few trips before with the dogs as they progressively moved items. Because of that, Spencer believes the dogs knew where they were going, but he is curious if they realized it was no longer another weekend trip.

What Do the Comments Say?

The hilarious TikTok clip amassed over 1.1 million views, 294,100 likes and nearly 250 comments as of Wednesday.

“The golden is judging you,” pointed out a TikToker.

Another said: “If confusion had faces. They’re so expressive it’s adorable.”

One viewer wrote what the dogs were thinking: “Dogs: ‘Be honest w us mom, did u get in trouble & have all ur toys taken away- bc u got our toys stolen too.'”
