Owner Takes Corgi to the Groomer, Can’t Believe the Result: ‘Jack Russell’

A dog owner from Miami was left broken hearted when her corgi went to the groomers for a trim and came out looking like a totally different dog.

In a viral video shared on TikTok in June, under the username adrianaserret, the pup’s owner shows first a picture of him as his usual self, enjoying a sunny day by the bay, followed by a series of pictures of him after the groomers, looking like what some TikTok users described as a Jack Russell, instead of a corgi.

A caption shared with the clip reads: “When my mom took our corgi to the groomer for a ‘trim…’ And this is how he came back.” Followed by: “I legit cried LMAO.”

The poster, Adriana Serret, told Newsweek that Jax is a 7-year-old Pembroke Welsh corgi, and she has had him since he was 4 months old.

“He’s very spoiled, he loves to nap, eat treats, and go look at boats. He’s a little human trapped in a dog’s body!” she said.

Moreover, she explained that the incident shared in the clip happened during the COVID pandemic, back in June 2020, when his mom thought she was doing her a favor by taking him to the groomers.

“My mom wanted to trim his hair a bit because it was really hot. There must’ve been a misunderstanding between the groomer and my mom, and that’s how we got him back. I was devastated because you’re not supposed to cut corgis’ hairs, but I understood it was a misunderstanding.

“His hair started growing back a few weeks later and he was back to his normal self four months later. We have never tried to trim his hair again, but continue to brush him weekly to help with his shedding.”

Dog wellness experts, Rover, explain that corgi fur doesn’t need to be cut regularly because their natural length is perfect for them to feel comfortable during both summer and winter months.

However, they do suggest brushing out their fur regularly, to help with their constant shedding.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 1.4 million views and 212,200 likes on the platform.

One user, ghostly grey, commented: “He looks so worried in the third picture. Thank goodness his coat grew back normally.”

RZjack wrote: “I’m really gullible. Are you sure this is the same dog? Who would do such a thing?”

Palmer Shelton added: “Dropped off a corgi, got back a Jack Russell.”
