Owners Show Dog How To Use Pet Door, Unprepared for What She Does Next

You might think that walking through a dog door would be a pretty simple task, but one German shorthaired pointer’s (GSP) disastrous attempts appear to prove otherwise.

After recently moving to a new home that features a “built-in doggy door,” dog owner Sarah thought it would be a useful way for her GSP Juno to get in and out of the house.

However, there’s just one problem with that, as Juno couldn’t actually figure the door out.

In a hilarious video posted on Instagram (@juno.b.jonez) and on TikTok (@sarhahahhaha), Juno can be seen approaching the doggy door, only to face plant the glass instead. Rather than walking through the small opening that’s at her height, she leapt up and smashed straight into the glass door.

Social media users can’t get enough of the dog’s confusion, leading to more than 5 million views and 241,000 likes on Juno’s dedicated Instagram. After reposting the video on her TikTok account, Sarah’s post has also generated over 2.3 million views and 281,200 likes at the time of writing.

Newsweek has contacted Sarah via Instagram for comment. We could not verify the details of the video.

Writing on TikTok, Sarah explained in the caption of her post that she and her partner had just bought the property and it was Juno’s first visit to the house. The video captured the owners during their second or third attempt at showing the dog how to use the doggy door.

Clearly, further attempts would be required before she got the hang of it.

Thankfully, Sarah added that Juno was “100 percent fine” after her mishap, and she’s still trying to figure the door out.

Replying to @bribob here’s the original without the ~subtle foreshadowing~ Some context: we just bought this home that has a built-in doggy door! This was Juno’s first time visiting the house, and probably our 2nd or 3rd time that night trying to show her how to use it 🙃 and yes she is 100% fine, and no she still has not gotten the hang of it

Indeed, Juno’s owners have shared further videos of their efforts to teach the dog how to use the doggy door properly. In one TikTok video, the owners can be seen crawling through the gap themselves before encouraging Juno to do the same.

But as intelligent as German shorthaired pointers are, the pup still can’t seem to master the simple task.

Needless to say, social media users are obsessed with Juno’s hilarious attempts to jump through the glass door. In just a matter of days, the video has amassed over 350 comments on Instagram, as well as 860 comments on TikTok.

Among the responses, one Instagram user wrote: “Oh lord I don’t know what I was expecting but it was definitely not that!”

Another person replied: “Glass door: 1, Dog: 0.”

A TikTok user commented on Sarah’s post: “I love [people] leaving tips when this is just a GSP doing normal things.”

While another comment reads: “Me after someone explains simple directions to me.”
