Piers Morgan responds to Joe Rogan’s impression of him
Piers Morgan responded on social media to Joe Rogan’s recent impression of him.
Newsweek reached out to Rogan’s representative via email for comment on Tuesday.
Why It Matters
Rogan, 58, is one of the most influential podcast hosts in the world. He often tops Spotify’s podcast chart and has over 20.4 million subscribers on YouTube. Meanwhile, Morgan is an English broadcaster known for his blunt interview style. On his Piers Morgan Uncensored YouTube channel, the 60-year-old has 4.19 million subscribers, with over 1.2 billion views.
What To Know
During Wednesday’s episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan praised Morgan while imitating his accent.
“He gets everybody worked up,” the former Fear Factor host said to his podcast guests, comedian Francis Foster and British–Russian political commentator Konstantin Kisin, before launching into an impression of Morgan: “‘Hold on, hold on, hold on. Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy. Hold on, Joy. Joy, Joy, Joy. You just said…'”
“It’s crazy, but it’s very entertaining. Very entertaining,” Rogan continued in his normal voice. “He figured something out, do Maury Povich-style with today’s social issues—anything that’s in the news.”
After seeing a clip of the segment on X, Morgan responded: “I’d love to… but that’s up to Joe. He could do his impression to my face..”
Currently, Morgan’s comment has racked up more than 320,400 views and over 1,500 likes on the platform.
Morgan previously spoke out about Rogan in a January 2022 New York Post column. “Rogan’s got an open mind; like me, he doesn’t park himself into any particular political or social tribe, nor does he like or dislike people according to their partisan allegiance,” he shared at the time. “He describes himself as a ‘socially liberal’ man who supports gay rights, women’s rights, universal health care and recreational drug use, and he has publicly endorsed Ron Paul, Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard.”
What People Are Saying
In the comments underneath Morgan’s X post, many people pushed for the interview to happen.
