The NBA playoffs are beginning this weekend, and some of the matchups are very intriguing. One of the more interesting ones comes from the Eastern Conference, where the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons are set to square off.

The two teams don’t seem to like each other very much, adding some extra fuel to this postseason matchup. Pistons guard Malik Beasley decided to take advantage of the situation and took a massive shot at Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns ahead of the series start.
“I’m not worried about KAT. I don’t think about KAT, I’m not even thinking about him… he is the LEAST of my worries.”

This series between the two teams should be entertaining following these comments from Besley. The Pustons are the lower seed entering the matchup, but they did find a lot of success against New York during the regular season.
Detroit took three of four games from the Knicks this year, making this series even more interesting. But the Knicks do have the star power over Detroit due to their loaded cast of talent.
These comments from Beasley could be used as motivation by the Knicks, but the Pistons guard isn’t afraid to speak his mind. Beasley understands what is in front of his squad and seems ready to go after this New York team.

New York will be looking to prove that they aren’t a fraud, especially after their lack of success against some of the best teams in the East. The Knicks spent a ton more this offseason to bring talent in, so the postseason is where they will need to show that it was justified.
Detroit has been one of the better stories around the NBA this year, so they will be trying to show the season wasn’t a fluke. The Pistons are a young squad, but they aren’t backing down from anyone.
Game 1 of this series kicks off on Saturday from Madison Square Garden in New York. Fans could be in for some fireworks between the two teams, especially after this new situation takes place.
