Plans For WWE Evolution 2 PLE In The Works: Report

WWE is reportedly considering a revival of the Evolution PLE. This comes after a previously rumored 2020 event failed to materialize, suggesting a renewed push for the all-women’s show.

WWE Evolution was a historic all-women’s pay-per-view (PPV) event that took place on October 28, 2018, at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. It was the first and only all-female PPV in WWE history, featuring top women superstars from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT, along with legendary wrestlers from past generations.

It was a historic night for women’s wrestling, featuring the main event of Nikki Bella vs. Ronda Rousey. Also on tap was Becky Lynch defeating Charlotte Flair in a Last Woman Standing match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, widely praised as one of the best women’s matches in WWE history.

“That’s even more opportunities for [women’s wrestling] to be showcased, you know? There’s so much more to do, there are so many more goals for us, now we have two more titles we can go after.

I’ve been dying for an Evolution 2, and I think now is the perfect time. Bigger than ever, we have more girls than ever. We can have a freaking back-to-back two-night show if we wanted to, like WrestleMania.

There’s so many girls, so many at NXT, we got this TNA partnership, we got two new titles. What are we doing? Let’s do it.”

According to BodySlam.net, WWE is aiming for an Evolution PLE on July 5th at the Mohegan Sun Casino & Resort. However, sources noted that the event is tentative and in the early stages of development.

Considering the holiday weekend, this would be a perfect spot on the calendar for such an event. They could get a strong crowd in attendance and a bigger audience at home recovering from the night before.

There is plenty of talent, from Raw to SmackDown and even NXT, who would like to have an all women’s PPV event. It all comes down to booking the right talent and matches on the card.
