PM: Trump has changed the political mindset of the West
“The new reality is that Donald Trump has changed the political mindset of the West,” PM Orbán said.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said: “We have done something for 15 years in Hungary in liberal headwinds, stopping migration, defending traditional values, respecting religious communities … low taxation, so everything which is unorthodox in the mind of the liberals”.
“The new reality is that Donald Trump has changed the political mindset of the West,” PM Orbán told US media personality Tucker Carlson at the World Government Summit in Dubai.
The prime minister said the Western liberal elite had used US taxpayers’ money to spread their ideology worldwide. “In Hungary, it funded more than 60 NGOs, politicians and media, in a conspiracy against our sovereignty and independence,” he added.
In a key development, Donald Trump has changed the political mindset of the West, on issues such as migration and the Green Deal, PM Orbán said. “Regarding the latter, everyone says now that the priority is economic competitiveness and green issues only come after,” he added.
Traditional families were also being viewed as “better” now, “and about the mad gender propaganda, they now openly say it is not right”, he said.
Regarding the war in Ukraine, those brokering peace were seen as “bad”, “but now it’s the other way around”, PM Orbán said.
