PM: We are protecting the security of families and the country’s peace
The prime minister said he summoned law enforcement leaders because “the Iran-Israel war could have an indirect impact on Hungary, and developments have taken the wrong direction.”
After visiting police headquarters in Budapest late on Monday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said: “We are protecting the security of families and the country’s peace.”
In a video uploaded to Facebook, the prime minister said he summoned law enforcement leaders because “the Iran-Israel war could have an indirect impact on Hungary, and developments have taken the wrong direction.”
PM Orbán noted that Iran was launching air strikes against US military bases in Qatar and Iraq, adding that “two more countries have entered the conflict, which is bad news.”
“We are facing an increasing threat of terrorism, and I have ordered the introduction of extraordinary security measures. We will protect the security of families and the country’s peace,” he said.
