Pro Wrestling Notes: Kevin Owens Injury Details, Fan-Favorite PLE Not Happening, More


As the Road to WrestleMania goes on, more and more matches continue to get added to the card of the Show of Shows.

Unfortunately, one match has been taken away after Kevin Owens announced that he had suffered a serious injury.

WWE News: Kevin Owens Officially Out for WrestleMania 41

One of the most highly anticipated matches for WrestleMania 41 was Randy Orton facing off against Kevin Owens. Unfortunately, it seems that match is no longer going to happen.

During Friday Night SmackDown, Owens announced that he had sustained a serious neck injury and would require surgery. Because of this, he had to back out from his match against Orton.

At this point, there is not telling who will replace Owens as Orton’s opponent.

WWE News: Kevin Owens Reveals When He Suffered Neck Injury

Naturally, the question comes up when exactly this injury took place, especially since Owens engaged in multiple matches with extreme stipulations. However, it seems it happened before that.

According to Owens himself, the injury occurred at some point in January, and the WWE doctors were only able to determine what exactly the injury was.

Fan-Favorite WWE PLE Is Not Returning This Year: Report

In other news, a recent report revealed that the fan-favorite Premium Live event (PLE) King and Queen of the Ring is not expected to return this year.

Last year was an exciting event that saw Gunther claim King of the Ring and Nia Jax take home the Queen of the Ring crown. Both were able to use their title opportunities in order to claim the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and WWE Women’s Championship respectively.

King and Queen of the ring were brought back in 2021 at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. Xavier Woods defeated Finn Bálor to be named King of the Ring while Zelina Vega defeated Doudrop (Piper Niven) to become the inaugural Queen of the Ring, then called Queen’s Crown.
