Roman Reigns Returns to WWE at SummerSlam 2024
In the main event of SummerSlam 2024, Cody Rhodes received plenty of help in his battle against Solo Sikoa and the New Bloodline.
Kevin Owens and Randy Orton ran in to fend off Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. However, the most exciting assist came from none other than Roman Reigns, who came down to the ring wearing a t-shirt with three letters: OTC. Jackie Redmond later defined this as the “Original Tribal Chief.”
Once he made it to the ring, Reigns easily took out Solo Sikoa with his signature Superman Punch and a Spear. Despite losing his title to Rhodes at Wrestlemania XL, Reigns left the American Nightmare alone. With a look of terror on his face, Rhodes finished Sikoa with a Cross Rhodes and the pin.
While there’s no doubt that he wants his title back, it’s clear what he wants more than anything: to take his place as the Head of the Table. Sikoa realized this as well, screaming about Reigns’ triumphant return
Roman Reigns is a four-time WWE Champion, two-time WWE Universal Champion, one-time Intercontinental Champion, one-time United States Champion, and a one-time WWE Tag Team Champion. He won the Royal Rumble in 2015 and Elimination Chamber in 2018.
Reigns held onto the Undisputed WWE Championship for 1,316 days. That’s the fourth-longest in WWE history and the longest in the modern era.
Reigns began his title reign when he won the Universal Championship at Payback on August 30, 2020, when he defeated “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman in a No Holds Barred Triple Threat match.
After defending the title for 581 days, Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 38, becoming the first WWE superstar to hold the Universal Championship and the WWE Championship, where he became recognized as the Undisputed WWE Champion.
Reigns would remain champion for an additional 735 days, defending his title against the likes of Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, and more.
Eventually, he would lose the title to current champion Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania XL in one of the biggest main events in wrestling history. Afterward, he would take a hiatus from the WWE, leaving Solo Sikoa to take control of the Bloodline.
Now that he has returned, there’s no telling what this means for Sikoa, the Bloodline, and the WWE Universe as a whole. Acknowledge him, as Reigns could be back to destroy the Bloodline that he himself created.
