Ryan Seacrest’s Kelly Ripa Text Revealed After Mark Consuelos Replaced Him

Kelly Ripa has revealed her former Live co-host Ryan Seacrest messages her when his replacement Mark Consuelos does things he would never have done on the show.

Ripa presented Live With Kelly And Ryanwith Seacrest from 2017 to 2023 but last year her husband Consuelos took over after the American Idol host left. Speaking on the Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast, Ripa said that Consuelos had “changed the atmosphere” on the show.

As they discussed how he was “game” to do anything on the program, talk turned to how there were things that Seacrest wouldn’t have done.

Ripa laughed: “When Mark does something on the show I get a text from Ryan and he’s like, ‘I left just in the nick of time.’ His whole thing is like, ‘Oh my God I would never do that, Oh my God.'”

Consuelos chimed in: “I’ve got to remember to keep that spirit because we did a lot of great stuff this past year and I’ve got to remember to keep that spirit because that’s, it’s good for the show… keep it fresh.”

Ripa—who has been married to Consuelos since 1996—went on: “I thought when I joined the show that I would be able to sort of change the atmosphere.

“Ryan came in and Ryan, you know, was like hiring my sibling. But I will say that when Mark came in and I was… I was a naysayer, I was like, ‘This is never going to work’ but you single-handedly did what I thought was not possible which was you changed the atmosphere in that place… you really did. Single-handedly.”

Seacrest was on Live with Ripa for six years but in February 2023 he announced that he was leaving and that it had been a “tough, tough decision.” He said saying goodbye to the show was “bittersweet” and that it had been a “dream job” and was “one of the highlights” of his career. Becoming emotional, he said there was “nothing” like the program on television.

The star said in a statement that Ripa had been “an amazing partner, friend, and confidant” to him, adding: “Although we will always be a part of each other’s lives, I will miss our mornings together.”

He added he was “excited to pass the baton to Kelly’s ‘real’ husband” Consuelos.

Consuelos then took over on the show in April 2023, and its name was changed to Live With Kelly And Mark.
