Scarlett Johansson Will Only Take Photos With Fans Under 1 Condition
Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors
When it comes to setting boundaries with her fans, Scarlett Johansson wants to be fair but very clear.
The 40-year-old actress recently spoke with InStyle in a report published on Tuesday, March 11, where she explained that she will not take pictures with fans unless she’s on the clock.
“It really offends a lot of people,” the star told the outlet before she explained, “It doesn’t mean I’m not appreciative, of course, that people are fans or happy to see me.” She also added, “But I always say to people, ‘I’m not working.’ I don’t want to be identified as being in this time and place with you. I’m doing my own thing.”

Johansson revealed, “I like to be in my own thoughts that have nothing to do with what other people think of me. I don’t like being self-conscious,” later in the interview. She also told the outlet that she read a piece about Chappell Roan. “Like everybody else, I fell in love with her over the summer,” the actress admitted before she noted, “She’s very outspoken about how hard it’s been to adjust to fame.” The report notes that Johansson related to Roan’s struggles with her rise to fame.
The star of the upcoming Jurassic World: Rebirth movie also spoke about achieving a lifelong goal by being a part of the beloved franchise and gave her personal take on what it was like to watch the original.
“I saw the first one when I was, like, 11. And it looked like nothing we’d ever seen before. I remember it so clearly. The music, the Brontosaurus, the whole thing. The first time that T-Rex screamed, oh my God, it was transcendent,” she noted.
Johansson plays Zora Bennett, “a covert ops expert who has been hired to lead the team extracting DNA from the three most gargantuan dinosaur species left alive,” in Jurassic World: Rebirth, according to a report published by Variety on Tuesday, March 11. Fans will be able to watch Jurassic World: Rebirth in theaters when it premieres on July 2.
