Shania Twain Gets Message From Avril Lavigne After Sharing Photo

Queen of country pop Shania Twain received a sweet message from fellow musician Avril Lavigne marking Monday’s Canadian Thanksgiving.

The “That Don’t Impress Me Much” singer was treating her Instagram fan base to a picturesque life update, revealing that she was still in her birth land soaking up its autumnal atmosphere.

“Complicated” hitmaker Lavigne, who was born in the Canadian city of Belleville in the mid-1980s, responded in the comment column with her best wishes.

Snapped out on a lake deck wrapped up against the chill, Twain’s caption read: “There isn’t anywhere more beautiful than Canada in the fall and there isn’t a better feeling than being warm and cozy in the crisp, cold air! Thankful for friends and family and this fabulous view. Heaven!”

Lavigne responded with “Happy Canadian Thanksgiving” beside orange-colored heart, leaf and pumpkin emojis.

This sentiment was echoed by plenty more messages, who wrote: “The colours are amazing this year! Happy Thanksgiving!”, “Looks like a great place to kick back and relax” and “Happy Thanksgiving! A perfect Muskoka chair and fall leaves in the background! Beautiful view”.

Rewinding back to August of this year, Twain reunited with an old friend on stage at Churchill Park Music Festival and the resulting video clip went viral.

Having welcomed “local girl” Gloria onto the raised platform, she and Twain embraced before the audience in Newfoundland, Canada. “This is ridiculous! I still have a Polaroid of us together. How many years since we’ve seen each other?” asked the former, to which Gloria answered “40.”

“40 years, yes. I’m gonna be 59 in a few days or something,” replied Twain, continuing with this crowd-pleasing anecdote. “Listen, so, on these tours when you’re the only girl in the band, you never meet any girls. The only girls you meet are the girls that are trying to hook up with the band. And so it was just very odd that I met a girlfriend, someone that I connected with, who wasn’t out to jump one of the guys.”

The Grammy Award winner then quizzed Gloria on where she was living these days, which happened to be the very same property Twain slept at in their youth.

“Gloria invited me over. I stayed at her house,” she told concertgoers, noting how her friend “treated me like one of the family.”

“The funny thing is that I’m still doing exactly the same thing as I did when I met you. I’m still in Newfoundland on a stage singing,” pointed out Twain.
