Steelers Have Not Reached Out About Keeping Russell Wilson
The Pittsburgh Steelers season is officially over, as the team was trounced by the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card Round of the Playoffs. Following the 28-14 final score, the team has a lot to decide in the coming weeks and months.
One big decision is to resign quarterback Russell Wilson. Wilson joined the Steelers on a one-year deal with $1.2 million, which is the league vet minimum.
Wilson ended the season with 2,482 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He also posted a 64.7 completion percentage. The veteran quarterback put together a respectable 2024 season, even with the beginning starting with a major injury.
Wilson has revealed his desire to return to Pittsburgh, but also revealed that the team has yet to speak to him about the future.
Russell Wilson said he’d like to be back with the Steelers next season but he hasn’t yet had those conversations with the front office.

According to The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo, “Russell Wilson said he’d like to be back with the Steelers next season but he hasn’t yet had those conversations with the front office.”
Wilson has not spoken to the front office about a new contract. Though the team just exited the playoffs, they will need to get going on this aspect.
The front office will need to put together their plans for free agency and the draft, which are rapidly approaching in March and April. If Wilson is not among those plans, they will need to let him know asap, so they can get the work going on his potential replacement.
