Student Checks Pet Cam in Class, Never Expects What She Sees Dog Doing

A student who checked in on her dog during class never expected the chaos that awaited her, and she told Newsweek how worried she was when she saw the pup’s predicament.

Bryanna Simons, who lives in Connecticut, is studying law in Massachusetts and is the proud owner of Border Collie, Colt, and his cat sibling Turbo.

With names like that, you can expect the animals to be full of energy, but when Simons used her Ring camera to see how they were doing without her, they exceeded her expectations.

Speaking about her pup to Newsweek, Simons said that, as a Border Collie, “that in itself comes with endless energy. He’s very expressive and super smart, although that video did not do him justice.”

Because, in a clip shared to her TikTok account @bryanna_simons on September 27, what she saw through the camera was Colt “fighting for his life” after getting tangled up in a blanket.

The viral video, watched almost 6 million times, shows Colt caught up in the throw, thrashing his body around, jumping and tripping over his own feet.

Colt the Border Collie was wrestling with a blanket and lost. A video shows him stumbling over his own feet and thrashing around before finally getting out.

Thankfully, as Simons put it in the video, “he made it out alive,” and eventually the collie’s head pops out from under the blanket.

Undeterred, Colt then pounces into a playful position and picks a ball off the floor, ready to play again.

Simons explained that Colt, who is “the most friendly, gentle pup,” was in fact playing with the cat when he got himself tangled up in the blanket.

“He had chased her under it and then stood up and was stuck,” she laughed.

While dogs and cats are often painted as rivals, the two animals can easily get along, particularly if they are introduced carefully and gently, according to Purina.

The animals should get used to each others’ scents, before being introduced face-to-face in an area that allows the cat a place to hide or escape without feeling crowded, and the dog should not be allowed to give chase.

TikTok users loved it, showering the video with close to 920,000 likes and thousands of comments, as one joked: “Glad he didn’t panic.”

“The way he turned and looked at the blanket like what was that for,” another said, while one wrote: “I appreciate how he looks back and goes ‘woah I almost lost my cool there’.”

Blanket
Colt got into the situation while playing with his cat sister, Turbo. After escaping from the blanket, he adopted a crouching position and picked up a ball, ready to play again.

And one user admitted they had “left class for a lot less than this,” with Simons telling Newsweek she was “worried” at first when she saw Colt stuck in the blanket.

But, she said, “he quickly got out of it and immediately started playing again, so I was relieved and laughed.”

When not chasing his cat sister or getting tangled in household objects, Colt, who also has an Instagram page, @Colt_of_Connecticut, is happiest when meeting new people or playing catch with the Frisbee and the ball, Simons said.
