Suri Cruise Allegedly Adopts New Name for School Musical’s Playbill

Freshly 18, Suri Cruise is marking her entry into adulthood with significant personal decisions. One notable change was made evident during her recent performance in the musical Head Over Heels in New York.

According to a report from Hello Magazine, Suri played the role of Philoclea, and was supported in the audience by her mother Katie Holmes and grandparents Martin and Kathleen. Interestingly, the Playbill reportedly listed the young actress not as her birth name, Suri Cruise, but as Suri Noelle, adopting her mother’s middle name.

Suri’s upbringing has been primarily under her mother’s care in New York, and reports indicate she has been estranged from her father, Tom Cruise, since childhood. This estrangement has not prevented Suri from pursuing her own path in the performing arts, however, a field both of parents are renowned in.

Katie, 45, and Suri share a close mother-daughter bond, which was evident when the actress spoke to Yahoo! Entertainment about her daughter’s musical contributions in the opening credits of her 2022 film, Alone Together. “I always want the highest level of talent. So I asked her! She’s very, very talented. She said she would do it and she recorded it, and I let her do her thing. That’s the way I direct in general: It’s like, ‘This is what I think we all want — go do your thing,'” Katie said about Suri’s talent.

In addition to Alone Together, Suri also lent her voice to her mother’s 2023 film Rare Objects. Additionally, according to her IMDb page, she made an uncredited appearance in her father’s 2013 film Oblivion.

Tom was recently seen relaxing at Formentor Beach in Mallorca, Spain, on May 11 and 12, displaying his impressive physique. The 61-year-old Mission: Impossible star was photographed taking a dip in the ocean with filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu, in photos obtained by Page Six. There has been no indication that Tom attended his daughter’s musical.
