Teen Mom’s Maci Bookout Celebrates Easter With Ex Ryan Edwards

Teen Mom star Maci Bookout McKinney surprised fans by sharing a wholesome Easter photo on Instagram on Sunday, March 31, in which she, along with her ex Ryan Edwards and their teenage son, Bentley Edwards, were joined by Ryan’s new girlfriend, Amanda Conner, and Maci’s husband, Taylor McKinney.

“Easter Shenanigans 🙏🫶🏻🐣#bennybaby #eastersunday #thingsthatmatter,” Bookout captioned the post, as they all had their arms around each other.

Bookout and Edwards’ journey has been filled with ups and downs, captivating viewers since the premiere of season one of 16 and Pregnant in 2009, followed by their appearance in the first season of Teen Mom. Their story unfolded as they welcomed their son Bentley in 2008. Despite a brief engagement, their relationship ended in 2009.

Bookout and her now-husband McKinney are parents to two more children, having tied the knot in 2016. Meanwhile, Edwards exchanged vows with Mackenzie Edwards (neé Standifer) in 2017. While Bookout and McKinney are still together, the Edwards’ parted ways in 2023. Mackenzie filed for divorce from Ryan in February 2023 and filed for a restraining order against her ex, who spent time in jail for harassing her.

Fans were taken aback by the Easter reunion because of the tumultuous journey Bookout and her family have endured in recent years. In 2018, tensions escalated to the point where Bookout sought and obtained a two-year restraining order against Edwards, following alleged threats made towards both her and her husband, McKinney. The restraining order protected Bookout, McKinney, and their two children, but he was still able to see his son, Bentley.

In 2023, Edwards had a string of legal troubles and a drug overdose. However, on an October 2023 episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter reunion, Bookout agreed when Dr. Drew said the family thought Mackenzie was “dangerous” to Edward’s sobriety.

Following this incident, Bookout vocalized a step in the right direction for their relationship. “I think time definitely helped … us being able to genuinely have a conversation and make commitments to each other as far as what our role is to make a better relationship and really start a relationship, because we hadn’t had one in so long,” she told In Touch.
