Three Takeaways From Jets’ Heartbreaking Loss to Buccaneers
🎙️ Voice is AI-generated. Inconsistencies may occur.
What would’ve been a miracle fourth quarter comeback for the New York Jets fell short as time expired on Sunday.
New York was defeated 29-27 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after Tampa Bay kicker Chase McLaughlin knocked in a 36-yard field goal to win the game.
Signs of life from the Jets offense were shown in the fourth quarter and here are three takeaways from their two-point loss.

Breece Hall disappeared again
Hall finished with less than 30 rushing yards for the second consecutive week. He had just nine carries for just 21 yards, as well as adding 31 yards on four receptions.
Hall has totaled just 90 total yards over the last two games, well below the production he was expected to give. Uncomfortable decisions may need to begin surrounding the future of Hall as the feature back in New York.
Jamien Sherwood showed up in a big way
Sherwood entered Sunday with 19 tackles in the Jets’ first two games of the season. He exited the day with 30 tackles on the season, leading all defenders on his team.
The 11 tackles were tied for a game high from either team. They came a week after he collected 13 tackles against the Buffalo Bills, his career high. Sherwood has emerged as a star player in the middle of New York’s defense.
Garrett Wilson may have had his coming out party
After just 11 catches in the first two weeks of the season, Wilson nearly matched that in Sunday’s loss. He collected 10 catches for 84 yards and scored his second touchdown of the season.
It was evident that he and quarterback Tyrod Taylor were on the same page for a majority of the game. It will be interesting to see what head coach Aaron Glenn decides to do at quarterback next week.
