Travis Decker Manhunt: Fundraiser For Mother of Three Killed Girls Hits $1M

A fundraiser for the mother of three girls who police suspect were killed by their father, Travis Decker, has reached over $1 million.

The GoFundMe was started by Amy Edwards, a friend of Whitney Decker, the mother of three girls found dead after visiting their father, Travis Decker, whose whereabouts are unknown.

The fundraiser is intended to cover Whitney Decker’s expenses, legal costs, and ability to comfortably take time off of work to grieve her three daughters: Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, 5.

The Context

Police are still searching for Travis Decker, 32, after his daughters were found near his truck in Washington State, on June 2.

The girls were reported missing by their mother on May 30 after they went to see their father for his scheduled visitation hours. According to Whitney Decker, Travis Decker, a veteran, was suffering from mental health issues at the time.

Although police found his truck, Decker himself is still missing three weeks later. Police have said they have narrowed their search down to the Ingalls Creek and Valley High area of Washington State.

The search is being led by the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), the Washington Army National Guard, and the US Marshals Service. There is a $20,000 reward for people with any information that could lead to Decker’s arrest.

The CCSO released a statement on June 18 letting the public know that a viral TikTok video claiming Decker had been taken into police custody was not true. Decker is still missing and considered to be armed and dangerous, however, law enforcement has said they do not have evidence to show there is an active risk to public safety at this time.

What To Know

The GoFundMe for Whitney Decker has reached $1,244,267 out of its $1.4 million goal. The fundraiser set up by Edwards is the only official fundraiser for Whitney Decker.

Edwards wrote in the GoFundMe: “This fundraiser is to support Whitney Decker with expenses and legal costs following the tragic loss of her three daughters, Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia…Funds raised will go directly to Whitney to help cover final expenses, support time off from work, and give her space to heal without financial pressure.”

“I’ve known Whitney for years, we’re both dance moms and theater friends,” wrote Edwards in the GoFundMe. “We originally met through Short Shakespeareans, where I serve as the music director and had the privilege of teaching Whitney’s girls over the past few years. We’ve spent this year as dance moms together, with my daughter Maisy and Whitney’s daughter Evelyn both performing on the Fabulous Feet Dance Rockstars team.”

The fundraiser also shares information on the memorial service being held for the girls on Friday, June 20.
