Travis Kelce’s Chiefs Admission Sends Message About Patrick Mahomes
The Kansas City Chiefs have gotten off to a sluggish start to begin the 2025 NFL season. Led once again by Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, the team appeared to snap out of their funk last week on Sunday Night Football against the Detroit Lions.
In a game that many were worried about the Chiefs, they were able to come out with a dominant 30-17 win at Arrowhead Stadium.
Will that be the win that turns things around and gets Kansas City back on track? That could very well be the case.

Kelce, who decided to forego retirement to return for at least one more season this year, loved what he saw from the team last week. Heading into Week 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Chiefs will need to bring more of the same style of play.
Following last week’s big win over the Lions, Kelce spoke out with some honesty about his team and Mahomes.
“When the defense is playing like that and Pat Mahomes is out here, Texas gunslinger just shooting it all over the field, man, it’s the best,” Kelce said. “We were rocking and rolling.”
Despite the slow start, Kelce also made an admission about his thoughts on the 2025 Kansas City team.
“The energy right now in the building is electric,” he said. “It’s one of the most fun teams I’ve ever been on.”
While the outside noise has been all about concern surrounding the Chiefs, it sounds like Kelce sees things a lot differently. He believes that the locker room has great energy, which hasn’t been seen in every game on the field. Hopefully, that good energy will translate to games like last week’s.
Right now, Kansas City holds a 3-3 record. There is a lot of work to do for the Chiefs to get back to being the obvious best team in the AFC. For years, they have been a clear-cut Super Bowl favorite.

Even though that may not be the case heading into Week 7, things can change quickly. If Kansas City can string a few games together playing at the level it played at against Detroit, the Chiefs will be right back to being viewed as a championship favorite.
All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what this week has in store for Kansas City against its bitter rivals.
