Update on Rumored WWE Tag Team Split
Rumors have surfaced on the potential split of one WWE tag team, but fans of the professional wrestling duo may not need to worry. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reports that Pretty Deadly is likely to continue on as a tag team once Elton Prince is cleared to return to action. Speculation of the team’s future began once Kit Wilson, the other half of Pretty Deadly, appeared more regularly on “Friday Night SmackDown.”
Color commentator Corey Graves also had fans talking when he mentioned the tag team’s catchphrase, “Yes Boy,” being in the past. One fan on X asked Wilson if Pretty Deadly has split, and his response was rather clear.
“I’ll never break up with that man,” Wilson wrote.

Pretty Deadly’s Journey From NXT to SmackDown
Pretty Deadly debuted in WWE under the now defunct “NXT UK” brand. Wilson and Prince captured the WWE NXT UK Tag Team Championship by defeating Mark Coffey and Wolfgang of Gallus back in 2021. The team reigned with the gold for nearly 300 days before losing the title to Trent Seven and Tyler Bate of Mustache Mountain.
Pretty Deadly eventually made their presence felt on the main “NXT” brand. In 2022, Wilson and Prince outlasted Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen, Legado Del Fantasma, Grayson Waller and Sanga, and The Creed Brothers to win the NXT Tag Team Championship. While Pretty Deadly lost the gold at “NXT In Your House” that same year, they won the title back at “Worlds Collide.”
During the 2023 WWE draft, Pretty Deadly was sent to the main roster. The duo became “Friday Night SmackDown” stars. On the May 2 episode of the blue brand, Wilson and Prince had a tag team match against Fraxiom. Prince suffered an injury during the match, and he hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since.
