US Embassy In Oslo Hit By Explosion – Newsweek
The US embassy in Oslo was hit by an explosion which caused minor damage but no injuries, according to Norwegian police.
Eyewitnesses reported a loud explosion near mission in the west of the Norwegian capital around 1 a.m. Sunday with some smoke seen coming from the site of the blast.
The Oslo police department told CNN that it was working with the embassy and there were no reports of injuries.
A search for the perpetrators was ongoing but no further explosive devices had been found in the area.
The incident comes at a time of heightened security for US embassies and consulates following the bombing campaign by the U.S. and Israel against Iran, although it is not yet known whether the blast was linked to events in the Middle East.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
