Valley of Arts festival to feature 500 programmes
The Valley of Arts festival, Hungary’s largest all-arts festival held in three villages north of Lake Balaton between July 21 and 30, will feature some 500 performances spanning literature, theatre and music, organisers said on Tuesday.
The festival will continue its tradition of producing its own play, this year featuring Andrea Szulak, Janos Szemenyei and Csaba Jantyik in Goldoni’s Mirandolina, they said.
Other theatrical productions will include performances by Art-Szinter, Jatekszin, the Csiky Gergely Theatre of Kaposvar and the Nezomuveszeti Kft.
Vigandpetend will have a stage dedicated to circus arts, featuring Recirquel and other performers. The same stage will be home to dance performances and concerts by Zoran, Laszlo Des, the Danubia Orchestra and others.
The Kalaka Versudvar and poet Janos Lackfi’s poetry improvisation sessions will be held for the 13th consecutive year, they said.
The Catholic church in Kapolcs will be the venue for classical concerts, featuring performances by Balazs “Dongo” Szokolay, the viola section of the Danubia Orchestra and the Budapest String Orchestra.
Taliandorogd will, among others, host concerts by Bea Palya, the Kerekes Band and Besh o droM.
