Valspar Championship After The PLAYERS Loads Up With PGA Tour Talent
The 2025 Valspar Championship will be played at its regular venue, Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida, from March 20th through the 23rd, to complete the ‘Florida Swing’. Despite being played the week after The Players Championship, a number of big names have already confirmed their presence in the field.
Among them is current World No. 8 Justin Thomas, who will be making his eighth appearance at the event. Thomas tied for third in 2022, which is his best finish at the event.
Thomas will not be the only top-ranked player in the field. Tommy Fleetwood (World No. 8), Shane Lowry (World No. 17) and Adam Scott (World No. 24) have also confirmed their participation.
Among those who have already confirmed their presence at the Innisbrook Resort are several former champions. They include Sam Burns (2021, 2022), Adam Hadwin (2017), Kevin Streelman (2013), Gary Woodland (2011) and Jordan Spieth (2015).

Two of the PGA Tour’s brightest young stars, Will Zalatoris and Akshay Bhatia, have also confirmed their presence at Palm Harbor. They will join fan-favourite Joel Dahmen, who has also announced his place in the field.
The Valspar Championship has already announced two of its sponsorship exemptions, this time for youngsters. These are the cases of 17-year-old PGA Tour rookie Blades Brown and amateur Luke Clanton.
Brown arrives fresh from making his first cut made as a professional at the Mexico Open, while Clanton does so after winning his tour card at the Cognizant Classic.
Justin Thomas will return to the Valspar Championship next month. A former World #1 and currently in the OWGR top 10, Thomas has won 15 times on the PGA TOUR including two PGA Championships. This will be his 8th Valspar Championship appearance with three Top 10s.… pic.twitter.com/8OefMjgzWA

The tournament, originally known as the Tampa Bay Classic, was established in 2000 and has been part of the PGA Tour schedule ever since. Paint and coatings giant Valspar has been the title sponsor since 2014 and has just extended its deal with the tour until 2030.
The list of event winners includes world-class golfers such as Vijay Singh (2004), Retief Goosen (2003, 2009) and Jim Furyk (2010). Goosen, K.J. Choi (2002, 2006), Paul Casey (2018 and 2019) and Sam Burns (2021, 2022) are the only players to have won multiple times.
The tournament record is 18-under 266, set by Singh when he won in 2004. The biggest margin of victory is seven shots, set by Choi when he won in 2002. The course record is 61, shot by Padraig Harrington in 2012.
