Tyler Robinson appears to have been spotted in a Dairy Queen in Orem, Utah, after the shooting of Charlie Kirk.
The conservative influencer Candace Owens released an image purporting to show the alleged murderer at the outlet during an episode of her podcast.
Newsweek has contacted the Orem Police Department and Dairy Queen for comment and confirmation.

Kirk was fatally shot in the neck on September 10 at the Utah Valley University campus while debating with students.

Robinson, 22, has been charged with aggravated murder and other offenses, including felony firearm discharge, obstruction of justice, and witness tampering. Prosecutors have indicated that they will seek the death penalty.

Owens shared on her podcast and in a reel on Instagram that she had an “exclusive” image of Tyler Robinson.
The photograph, which had not previously been released, appears to show Robinson at the Dairy Queen. Owens said the image was taken at 6:38 p.m, after the shooting. The picture appears to show Robinson wearing a maroon T-shirt, with a cap, his head turned.
Owens said the “nearby Dairy Queen” was around 15 minutes away from the campus.
The image has not been verified by law enforcement or any official entity. Newsweek has not independently verified the image.
The reel shared to Instagram has been viewed more than a million times as of reporting. A post about the image has been viewed more than 5 million times on X.
Authorities said that Robinson had arrived on campus in a Dodge Challenger at around 8:30 a.m. on September 10. Kirk was shot and killed at 12:23 p.m. on September 10.
If the image is legitimate, this would mean that Robinson was at the Dairy Queen more than six hours after the shooting.
The Dairy Queen “spotting” bears similarities with the arrest of Luigi Mangione, who is accused of killing UnitedHealthcare’s CEO, Brian Thompson. Mangione was arrested in a Pennsylvania McDonald’s following a search for Thompson’s killer.
Owens has been posting consistently about Kirk’s death and the shooting. The two had been friends, and Owens had previously worked at Turning Point USA.
Owens has been criticized for some of what she has posted following Kirk’s death, which has been described by some as rumors and conspiracy theories.
Joel Berry, who is the managing editor of The Babylon Bee, shared a message from Charlie Kirk’s pastor, Rob McCoy, on X on September 16. It read in part, “He [Kirk] would never have treated Candace or her family in such a way had God forbid this tragedy been hers.”
Eric Boiling, the former Fox News and Newsmax host, also spoke about Owens in relation to Kirk this week. While speaking on Patrick Bet-David’s “PBD Podcast,” he said that Kirk and Owens had previously been tight, they had a “break-up,” due to Owens’ theories becoming “a little bit too down the rabbit holes,” something which Boiling said was “Too extreme,” for Turning Point USA.

Charlie Kirk’s pastor, Rob McCoy, in a message shared on X by Joel Berry: “Charlie Kirk was my friend and I was his pastor. I want to simply say this regarding Candace Owens: Charlie Kirk was a friend to Candace and never publicly spoke poorly of her though he disagreed with her.
“He never operated nor entertained gossip or innuendo concerning Candace. My only comment I offer regarding Candace is this: I only wish at this tragic time of mourning she would be the friend to Charlie that he was to her. Robinson has not yet entered a plea and is being held without bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for September 29.
A memorial service for Kirk will take place on Sunday, September 21, in Arizona. President Donald Trump is expected to attend, along with other top Republicans.
