WATCH: Lewis Hamilton Miraculously Escapes Fall From Ferrari F1 Car

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton miraculously escaped injuries that could have potentially reduced his chances of racing in the 2025 season-opener in Australia. A video surfaced on social media showing Hamilton falling off a Ferrari F1 car before being assisted by a team member.

Fortunately, the short fall landed him on his feet as he nearly sat on the car’s front tire, ruling out any injury that could have set him back hugely this season. The video shows the Briton standing on the nose of a Ferrari F1 car during a Unicredit event in Milan. With a huge crowd witnessing the Ferrari duo, Hamilton was focused on greeting the fans when he stepped on the car’s wheel and fell.

While this might seem like a minor incident to acknowledge, it is important to note that any form of injury could affect his performance in the Australian Grand Prix weekend that begins on the 14th of March. Considering that this is his first season with Ferrari following his historic signing, expectations from both him and the team are at an all-time high, and any injury could hinder their progress.

Hamilton’s move to Ferrari was motivated by his long-time dream to race for the legendary outfit, and his pursuit of an eighth championship title. Ferrari unveiled its 2025 challenger, the SF-25, during the pre-season testing in Bahrain that concluded on the 28th of February. Speaking after the test and pointing out the varying conditions that helped the team gather important data, Hamilton said:

“Overall, it’s been a great few days and we’ve made some strong progress as a team. We had to finish a little earlier than planned today, and the weather has been hard to predict all week, but that’s how testing works sometimes, and we’ve managed to gather a lot of good information to build on before the season starts.

“The whole team has done an incredible job, and I’m so excited to get to the first race in Melbourne. I can’t wait to go racing with them.”

Hamilton’s teammate, Charles Leclerc, added:

“This has been a very different type of pre-season testing, because of the inconsistent weather in Bahrain making it hard to come to any real conclusions. The wind changed from run to run, there was even some rain yesterday, and temperatures fluctuated over the course of the week, so all the teams head to the first race with some more unknowns compared to the past few years. We still learned a huge amount, especially in terms of the way the car feels now that we’ve actually been out on track.

“We will return to Maranello and spend some time in the simulator, to look for the last details that could make a difference in Melbourne, but also to correlate the feeling in the sim to that in the real car. We are fully focused on maximizing our performance over the coming week and I really look forward to kicking off the season.”
