What Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Told Kanye West, According to New Song
Kanye West released a new song on Saturday that appears to feature a phone conversation with Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The conversation seems to include Combs thanking West for caring for his children.
Newsweek reached out to representatives for Combs for comment.
When Did Kanye Release a Song With Diddy and North West?
West announced the song “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine” in a post on X, formerly Twitter, which has since been deleted. He said the song features “Puff Daddy” (Diddy’s former stage name), Sean’s son Christian “King” Combs, Kanye’s daughter North West and new artist Jasmine Williams.

Why It Matters
Combs is facing federal charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. He is also facing multiple lawsuits from plaintiffs accusing him of sex crimes.
Combs has pleaded not guilty to the criminal charges and denies any wrongdoing.
What To Know
In 2015, West and Combs worked on the song “Guard Down” by Ty Dolla $ign.
West spoke about his relationship with Combs when he presented him with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2022 BET Awards.
“I go to him for advice to this day. He inspired so many of my choices,” West said.
Later that year, Combs spoke out against West making T-shirts with the text “White Lives Matter.” He told radio show The Breakfast Club that the shirts were “tone deaf.”
West then released text messages between him and Combs.
After Combs’ arrest, West posted “Free Puff” on X.
‘Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine’ Song Lyrics
“I just want to thank you so much for just taking care of my kids, man,” a voice that appears to be Combs says at the start of the song. “And ain’t nobody reach out to them, ain’t nobody call them.”
The person continues, “That meant so much, you know what I’m saying, that you reached out to them and took them under your wing.”
West responds, “Absolutely, I love you so much, man. It’s like you raised me, even when I didn’t know you.”
The song has faced public backlash, especially since West included his young daughter on the track alongside Combs. Before the song’s release, West shared now-deleted texts that appeared to be between him and his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.
One of the messages to West said, “I sent paperwork over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song to protect her. “
On Instagram, former Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel advised Kardashian to stop communicating directly with West.
What People Are Saying
Bethenny Frankel, on Instagram: “Kim is texting Kanye, who is not a rational person, and she’s texting him as if he’s a rational person. She should be speaking to him by proxy. Someone else should be the one interacting with him because, again, he’s not rational. He’s sharing her texts, and that’s a violation.”
What Happens Next
Combs’ federal criminal trial is scheduled to begin on May 5. He is being held in the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York, after being denied bail multiple times.
