White House Reacts to Its ‘Dress Code’ After Zelensky, Musk Comparison
During Wednesday afternoon’s press conference, White House Press Secretary was asked about President Donald Trump administration’s “dress code” after comparisons between the attire of Volodymyr Zelensky and Elon Musk.
Republicans have criticized Zelensky for not wearing a suit during his visit to the Oval Office on Friday—a common refrain conservative lawmakers have used during previous visits from the Ukrainian leader.
Meanwhile, Trump ally Elon Musk frequently wears his casual “Dark MAGA” outfit at the White House. However, Musk wore a suit to Tuesday night’s Trump address to Congress.
A reporter asked Leavitt, “Elon Musk never wears a suit in there. What is the dress code?”
Leavitt quipped, “He wore a suit last night…I think the president liked it very much.”
This is a developing news story and will be updated as more information is available.
