Who is Pete Hegseth’s Wife, Jennifer Rauchet Hegseth?
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth married Jennifer Rauchet Hegseth at Trump National Golf Club in Colts Neck, New Jersey, in 2019.
The Context
Hegseth is currently facing criticism after the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic said he was included in a Signal chat group containing sensitive military information about upcoming strikes on Yemen.
Hegseth denied the report while speaking to reporters in Hawaii.
“You’re talking about a deceitful and highly discredited so-called journalist who’s made a profession of peddling hoaxes time and time again,” Hegseth said.
What To Know
Rauchet was a producer on Fox and Friends, a show that Hegseth began co-hosting in 2017.
In the 2020 book Hoax by former CNN chief media correspondent Brian Stelter, a Fox News executive said Rauchet “was favoring Pete with airtime.”
Rauchet Hegseth is Hegseth’s third wife. The couple shares a 7-year-old daughter together.

They also each have three children from previous relationships.
Rauchet Hegseth shared a photo of her and their children attending Hegseth’s swearing-in ceremony on Instagram in January.
“I’m so proud of my husband and—like you—am excited to see all that’s to come for our nation under this president and his well chosen leaders. It’s a new chapter and God is the author—he writes the most beautiful stories,” Rauchet Hegseth wrote in the post.
She also accompanied Hegseth on an international trip last month, where she met with military members, spouses and families across Europe.
On Valentine’s Day, Hegseth said on Instagram that he was grateful to have his “incredible wife” by his side during the trip.
Rauchet Hegseth defended her husband as he faced sexual assault allegations during the Senate confirmation process.
“They won’t stop with Pete. It’s not him they’re after. It’s your values. We won’t back down,” Rauchet Hegseth wrote on Instagram.
Hegseth married his first wife, Meredith Schwarz, in 2004. They filed for divorce in 2008.
He married Samantha Deering in 2010. They filed for divorce in 2017.
What People Are Saying
Rauchet Hegseth, on Instagram in 2023: “Happy Anniversary to my EVERYTHING. Blessed to call him husband and father.”
Hegseth, on Instagram in 2024: “HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to my favorite person on planet earth. I love you.”
What Happens Next
Hegseth’s wife has not publicly commented on his latest controversy.
Brian Hughes, a spokesperson for the National Security Council, told The Atlantic that it is “reviewing how an inadvertent number was added” to the chat group allegedly containing government officials.
