While Ramírez holds a full no-trade clause, he can still decide where he wants to go if the team decides to move on from him. Ramírez is 32 and is running out of time in what most outlets consider to be the prime of a baseball player. The Yankees would make sense as they search for an answer at third base and their history of taking on big contracts.
This may feel far-fetched, but it could be closer to reality than standings-watchers realize, as there is a clear difference between where the Guardians and Tigers are in the lifecycle of a baseball team.
