‘Wordle’ Today #1,329 Hints and Answer for Friday, February 7 Game
It’s time to put your thinking caps on because the latest Wordle game is here.
The brainteaser catapulted to global fame after it was first introduced to the world in October 2021. By January 2022, The New York Times had acquired Wordle for a seven-figure sum, a fee that has never been made public.
Josh Wardle, a Welsh software engineer, perfected the game during the coronavirus pandemic as a way to entertain himself and his partner.
In an interview with Newsweek in 2022, Wardle said: “When I designed the game, it was for me and my partner to enjoy, so I made sure that all of the entries were randomized. In other words, I don’t actually know what tomorrow’s word is going to be, which means that I can take part like everybody else.”

Players must work out the five-letter word within six tries by narrowing down letters. Green tiles show the letter is correct and in the correct place; yellow tiles show the letter is in the word, though not in the right place; and gray tiles indicate the letter is not in the word at all.
In a past interview Wardle shared with Newsweek that this specific format was chosen for a reason.
“That might seem arbitrary but, with the prototype version, I tested different word lengths and experimented with the number of tries that players were allowed,” he said. “Through that process of refinement, I figured out that five letters and six tries were the ideal sweet spot. It’s just limited enough to feel challenging and to make you think, but most of the time people still manage to solve it. So, you feel a real sense of real accomplishment.”
Today, the puzzle has a massive following and is beloved by celebrities including Meghan Markle, Bradley Cooper, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Jason Bateman, Carol Burnett, Allison Janney and more.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in April 2023, Burnett said she and Janney play the game together.
“We just Wordle back and forth,” the Carol Burnett Show star said. “She’s the first one every morning at my coffee.”
