WWE Champion Threatens Dwayne Johnson of “Stealing Time” Following Big Win

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has returned to WWE in a very big way, but it seems that some younger wrestlers are not too happy with how the Hall of Famer is eating up screen time.

Oba Femi isn’t shy about calling out The Rock after his big moment was overshadowed at NXT New Year’s Evil.

Femi, who claimed the NXT Championship in a thrilling Triple Threat match against Trick Williams and Eddy Thorpe, found himself upstaged by The Rock, who closed the show with an unexpected promo.

While Femi’s victory should have been the night’s defining moment, it was the WWE legend who had the final word.

Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Femi was asked why he didn’t confront The Rock for stealing the spotlight.

With a touch of humor, Femi admitted that he hadn’t realized his moment was being taken from him at the time.

“At that moment, I didn’t even know my time was being stolen,” Femi explained. “But maybe if I had realized, I would’ve walked up to him and said, ‘Hey, Uncle Dwayne, what’s going on here?’ I’ll let it slide this time, but next time, Uncle Dwayne tries to take my spotlight, there’s gonna be problems.”

The playful remark from Femi wasn’t just a joke—it was a clear message: while he’s willing to let The Rock off the hook once, he won’t let it happen again.

Femi’s confidence was also evident when discussing the controversial finish to his title match, where Eddy Thorpe took out Trick Williams with a chair, giving Femi the opening to hit his powerbomb and secure the win.

When asked if he’d give Williams a rematch under the claim that Femi didn’t win “clean,” Femi stood his ground.

“I wanted a singles match. Trick was the one who suggested a triple threat, so now he has to earn his way back to a title shot,” Femi said, clearly showing that his victory wasn’t up for debate.

It’s clear Femi is fully embracing his new role as NXT Champion. Whether it’s addressing The Rock’s surprise appearance or standing firm on the legitimacy of his win, Femi is sending a strong message that he’s here to stay.
