WWE Legends Pitches Unique Storyline Idea for LA Knight
WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray believes a drastic storyline involving the loss of his voice could elevate the already popular LA Knight to even greater heights by garnering significant fan sympathy. LA Knight has risen through the WWE ranks over the past few years, largely propelled by his exceptional microphone skills and charismatic catchphrases, which have cultivated a dedicated fanbase.
Despite his popularity, Knight has consistently fallen short in his quests for the World Heavyweight Championship. Recognizing this pattern, Bully Ray proposed a “blood feud” scenario designed to create a powerful comeback narrative for Knight. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray detailed his idea:
“You know what LA Knight needs? A blood feud. Take his voice away,” Bully Ray stated (H/T to WrestleTalk). He then described a violent method for achieving this: “Put the steel chair on his neck and take another steel chair and smack it into the legs of that steel chair and drive the lip of the chair into his larynx, crushing his larynx, so he can’t talk anymore.”
The storyline would see Knight silenced, forcing him to rely solely on the crowd’s support. Bully Ray envisioned a moment where a rival taunts the voiceless Knight.

“Until the time is right for somebody to make fun of him and go, ‘You can’t even talk, you can’t even talk, all you’ve got is the people talking for you, here watch,’ and then the people go, L… A… Knight…’ and out of nowhere, LA Knight goes, ‘Yeah.’ And he talks for the first time again.”
Bully Ray predicted the fan reaction to this moment would be immense. “The people would f***ing blow, LA Knight starts blowing a comeback, and you’ve made a guy because we feel sympathetic for him, because he overcame adversity and he got his voice back.” The core idea is that temporarily removing Knight’s greatest asset—his voice—would create deep sympathy and make his eventual vocal return and triumphant comeback incredibly impactful.
LA Knight recently competed in the Battle Royal on Raw to determine CM Punk’s opponent for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event, but was eliminated. His last major title opportunity came at Clash in Paris in August, where he was part of the multi-man match won by Seth Rollins.
While not booked for a title match this Saturday, Knight remains a prominent figure on Raw. With Survivor Series: WarGames approaching on November 29th, the possibility exists for Knight to be involved, perhaps as part of a team challenging The Vision.
