The future of Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen, collectively known as Private Party, remains uncertain as new details emerge about their contractual status with All Elite Wrestling. The duo, who have been a tag team since 2015 and signed with AEW in 2019, have been conspicuously absent for most of 2025.
Their last match in the promotion was on the January 22nd episode of “AEW Dynamite,” where they were defeated by The Hurt Syndicate in a match for the World Tag Team Titles.
This prolonged absence comes amidst rumors that the Stamford-based promotion, WWE, has shown interest in the tag team. This follows a trend of WWE signing several former AEW stars in recent months, including Blake Monroe, Ethan Page, and the returning Aleister Black (Malakai Black).
Fightful Select reports that WWE has “major interest” in Private Party, noting at the time that their AEW contracts were believed to be expiring imminently with no discussions of an extension. Despite their absence from television, fans have observed that both Kassidy and Quen have been working on their physiques, showing noticeable changes.
A recent update from Fightful Select has provided more context to their situation. According to the report, The Hurt Syndicate, despite being their on-screen rivals, were actually the ones who encouraged Private Party to spend more time in the gym to enhance their overall presentation. This suggests a supportive backstage relationship between the two teams.

Regarding the most pressing issue—their AEW contracts—the new report describes the details as “foggy” or unclear. It is suggested that their contracts might not expire at the same time, or that their deals may have been extended due to time missed for injuries.
The report concluded that it is still unknown whether Quen or Kassidy intend to remain with the Tony Khan-led promotion or if they will seek opportunities elsewhere, such as WWE.
As Private Party’s status remains in question, AEW continues to build towards its next pay-per-view event, “Full Gear,” scheduled for November 22, 2025, in Newark, New Jersey. The card already includes FTR challenging Brodido (Brody King and Bandido) for the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
This is a division that Private Party has been absent from for over nine months. It remains to be seen if or when the duo will resurface in AEW or another promotion.
